I am a proud mother of 5 ranging in ages of 8 to 15 and I am married to the most amazing man. We live on a 27 acre farm in Lula GA. I have not always lived here. I was originally a Michigan girl. I grew up in the city but when my family moved to the country I left the only life I had been knew. That is when the adventure started. Country life was awful, at least as a teenager eager to get my license, that's what I thought. My parents quickly adapted, we had chickens, pigs, a horse and a garden the size of Ohio, Yeah that's what I thought when my mama was ready to pick. We had fruit trees and we spent the summers up to our elbows in vegetables that needed to be dried, or canned, or eaten. I swore once I left the farm I'd never go back. I shake my head, how did those words ever leave my mouth? I searched for farm land for four years. Then something amazing happened. The farm that I passed everyday went up for sale. I could walk to it from my house. It was a dream come true! Then the bottom fell out after we purchased the farm I lost my job of 22 years. I had worked for one company my entire career. I stayed up nights asking myself what will we do? I have always wanted to make our farm so much more than the homestead it has become for our family. I wanted to share our life and our farm adventures with other families. That is when I decided to start Amanda's Farm to Fork. Cooking has always been my passion. I love to cook, love to teach others to cook. I love trying new things and sharing those experiences with my friends and family. So I welcome you to our farm. Meet our family, see where our vegetables are grown , our pigs waller and our chickens lay fresh eggs. Just because you don't have a farm doesn't mean you can't join in on our adventure.
